Why is it important to be a good digital citizen?
For educators, it's important because our goal is to help students define success online, and to help implement tools and habits that prepare them to be ethical, responsible and resilent digital citizens.
What value does a good digital reputation have? Agood digital reputation shows that basic digital rights must be addressed, discussed, and understood in the digital world. With the rights also come responsibilities as well. Users must help define how the technology is to be used in an appropriate manner.

  1. I didn't really know the term "Digital Citizenship". After I figured it out, I realized how important it is. Too many people believe they are the only one that sees what they put on the computer. In my opinion, a digital citizenship class should be required before someone is allowed to get online.

  2. I also agree with the digital citizenship class. Make it a class that everyone should take in junior high.

  3. I agree with you that students should be taught habits that prepare them to be ethical and responsible. We all need to realize the benefits and risks to putting anything online and you are right in saying that with rights comes responsibility.
